John "Butch" Cox,

58 years old, Cresent, Iowa,

passed away January 14,

2008, at his home.

Born in Corning, Iowa, he

graduated from Red Oak

High School. He was a former

resident of Red Oak and

Glenwood, Iowa, moving to

Cresent in 1993. He was

owner and operator of Free

Bird Enterprise. He served in

the Iowa National Guard and

was an avid motorcycle rider.

He was preceded in death

by his wife, Glenna Lee

(Norton) Cox, July 4, 2002.

Survivors include his

daughter, Alicia Pettigrew

and husband Brent, Crescent;

sons, Chris Cox and wife

Kami, Glenwood, Mike Cox,

Red Oak; grandchildren,

Christian Cox, Glenwood,

Gaberiel Pettigrew, Crescent;

Emma Glenna Lee Pettigrew,

Crescent, Zachery and Shane

Cox, of Red Oak; parents,

Glen and Ruth Dorr, Weslaco,

Texas; sister, Jackie Porter,

Des Moines, Iowa; brother,

Matt Dorr, Des Moines;

father-in-law and mother-in-

law, Glenn and Donna Nor-

ton, Lenox, Iowa.

Visitation with the family,

Sunday, 6-8 p.m., at

Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral

services, Monday, 9 a.m., at

the funeral home. Rev. Lea

Marshall, Countryside Com-

munity Church, officiating.

Graveside services will be

Monday, 12:30 p.m., at the

North Fairview Cemetery,

Lenox, Rev. Gerry Kahler, of-

ficiating. The family will di-

rect memorials. "Butch" was

all about his family and

friends, and his best friend,

dog, Scooter. I love you dad.
