The smell of smoke filled the air, with ash falling along Fontenelle Forest’s boardwalk.
On April 27, about four acres of Lauritzen Gardens’ prairie burned. Lauritzen is one of several nature centers in the area that uses fire to maintain the health and aesthetics of their scenic parks.
