Costumes, pumpkins, glow games, and plenty of family fun are returning to Cochran Park this fall. The City of Council Bluffs will host the fourth annual Costume Night on Friday, October 9, from 6-8 p.m. at Cochran Park, 100 S. 21st Street.
Costume Night is part of the city’s ongoing effort to bring free activities and events to parks and public spaces throughout Council Bluffs. The event has grown into a fall tradition that gives families a fun, easy way to get outside and enjoy one of our favorite neighborhood parks.
This year’s lineup includes pumpkin painting, light-up balloon animals, fall photo ops, the Imagination Playground, music with Andre Vander Velde, a Council Bluffs Public Library station, a scavenger hunt, prizes, and a variety of glow-in-the-dark games, including kickball, soccer, pickleball, basketball, Kan Jam, and football toss.
A family-friendly movie will also be shown in the park, with the title to be announced soon.

Thanks to support from Iowa West Foundation, free hamburgers will be served from 6-8 p.m. Additional food vendors will have drinks and snacks available for purchase.
Costumes are encouraged, but not required, and all activities are free.
Parking near Cochran Park is limited. Attendees are encouraged to walk or bike when possible, with on-street parking available in the surrounding neighborhoods.
