Aubrey Hoeft of the Charger volleyball team has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Sioux City Riverfront Briar Cliff Athlete of the Week following an outstanding performance at the Siouxland Invitational.
Hoeft, a native of Plymouth, Iowa, played a key role in helping the Chargers go a perfect 4-0 on the weekend, earning wins over Bethel, Mayville State, Haskell and Bismarck State.
The junior middle blocker totaled 26 kills across the four matches, hitting .271 on the weekend. Hoeft also made an impact defensively, recording 18 total blocks, including 16 block assists and two solo blocks.
Her performance helped Briar Cliff improve to 5-1 on the season, marking the Chargers' best start since the 2020 season.
The Chargers will return to action this Wednesday, August 26, traveling to Atchison, Kansas, to take on the Benedictine College Ravens. First serve is set for 5 p.m.
