Need help with the new alarm registration process?
The City of Council Bluffs recently moved alarm registration and renewals to our online Customer Portal. The new system replaces the previous paper process and allows residents and businesses to manage their registration online.
If you received an alarm registration postcard from the city, it is time to renew your registration in the new system.
A few things to know
Registration is now online. Paper applications are no longer accepted.
Need help getting online? Public kiosks are available at City Hall, 209 Pearl Street, for those without internet access.
No more false alarm fees. The city's updated alarm program eliminated false alarm fees.
Have an outdoor security camera? Enroll in the CBPD Camera Database Program before completing your alarm registration and your registration fee will be waived. The program does not give police access to your camera. It simply lets officers know they can contact you to request footage if a crime occurs nearby.
Add your property by searching for your address and selecting the correct location.
Add your contacts. You will need to provide a principal and three authorized representatives. You can also add your alarm installation and monitoring companies, if applicable.
Complete the alarm information and certify the information provided.
Review and submit your registration.
Pay the registration fee online. If you enrolled in the CBPD Camera Database Program, your registration fee will be waived and no payment is required.
